If possible, please try to have your children at school at 8:20 a.m. on their day of the week so they have their turn at opening doors! If you have a problem with a certain day of the week, and a different day better suits your family, please do not hesitate to reach out!

What a fantastic start to the school year this great group of students had. Kristina and Katie are delighted to have the opportunity to work with this talented and inspiring group for the duration of the year.

Covered this first week:

  • Summer reading complete with a “quiz” and a ROBOT BUILDING CONTEST!
  • Summer Poetry exploration
  • Math review of multiplication
  • Routines and Rules

Students also began their specials this week. They experience Art with Mr. K three times a week, and Yoga with Ms. Kylie on Tuesdays. On Wednesday, they start off the day with P.E. with Mrs. Ochap. Each week they get to experience Music, Language and Culture, and each deep dive twice! It’s a wonderfully busy week for these kids.

Your child is bringing home the yellow folder. Please review it with your child and take out the papers from the week. Bonus points for any child who brings in a clean/empty yellow folder on Monday!

Snack help!  We are trying to lead the school in healthy choices. Please check to see that your child packs a healthy snack (protein, veggies, fruits, cheese, yogurt).

Creek Side Deep Dive

The students’ excitement is contagious as they are eager to discover our beloved creek. Creek side deep dive we will embrace the creek to learn about our watershed, conservation, aquatic life, and more! This week students set up their notebooks and made secchi disk to complete our first creek survey. What’s a secchi disk? – ask your child!

Playgrounds and Parks Deep Dive

Playgrounds and Parks is off to an exciting start! The students are excited to learn more about the renovated playground and what went in to this level of project. Throughout the unit, we’ll learn more about designing and maintaining the playground while also diving into the conversation of playground physics. As a bonus, we’ll virtually explore community playgrounds and see what we can recommend as potential upgrades

Thank you!
