What a great first week of 4th Grade! It’s been so much fun getting to know your children. We are thrilled to have such wonderful kids in our class. This week was filled with getting to know our way around 4th grade.  We started collecting ideas for writing memoirs with Mrs. Kramer (she’ll be teaching writing with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays), we also did some creative writing with Mr. Rouse (he’ll also teach with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Deep dives started for both Brainology and U.S. Government with exciting and promising conversations.  In math, we played an exciting game of “Math Sparkle” and the room came alive! We also did some fun math computations and activities. Next week, we’ll start on place value and large numbers. We started to sign into our new school emails and explore a little bit of our Google Classroom. We couldn’t have done that without all of your help and patience, thank you! We ended our week with a colorful Twin Pop party with the whole school. We’ll be celebrating “Learning in Color” all year long!

Quick Reminders:

  • Please send computers charged and ready to go each day. Protective cases are KEY to keeping these devices safe!
  • We will begin reading our first book, 4th Grade Rats, next week. If you haven’t sent your child’s copy, please do so. If you are having trouble obtaining a copy, please let us know. We’ll try to get one to borrow. The other books on the reading list should also be sent to school.

Thank you to all of you for your trust and support as we embark on our 4th Grade year. We know it’s going to be awesome!

Have a great weekend!
