What a fantastic first FULL week of school we’ve shared together. We’ve already begun making our mark, figuratively AND literally, here in SK. Inspired by the story Harold’s Purple Crayon we experimented with any and every type of line. The students used rulers, stencils, and yarn to explore the world of lines. We continued making marks by using all sorts of writing tools and surfaces. The students are really starting to understand how the different tools work and discovering which tools help them achieve what they want to create. We will continue exposing the students to a variety of utensils and marking tools to see what they can come up with!

During our phonics portion of the day, the students were introduced to their book boxes! They are already enjoying reading to themselves (using our “3 Ways to Read a Book” method). We can already see some little readers in the making! Using our “little man” and handwriting notebooks the students have been working on writing the letter Aa. Our “little man” also made his appearance in math! We have already begun writing and representing our numbers. They have been practicing going from “head to toe” and focusing on the formation/direction of their numbers and letters.

Have a fabulous four day weekend!
See ya Tuesday,

Miss Tylar & Miss Claire
