If you can’t stand the heat…

Hello 2nd grade!

Tuesday, September 12th – 6:30 Parent Night

Wednesday, September 20th – 9:00 Field Trip

  • We will be taking a field trip to the Challenger Center on Wheeling University’s campus on September 20th. We are looking for parent drivers to drop us off at 9:00 and pick us back up at 12:00.  If you are interested, please reach out to us!

Monday, September 25th – Picture Day! The oldest child of each family received a paper copy of this form, but we’re also attaching it here as a PDF. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thursday, October 5th – Grandparent’s Day

Man, it sure was a hot one this week! We cooled off in the creek and spent time looking for critters!  The kiddos loved running through the water and giggling with friends. In deep dive, we studied the inner and outer planets as well as talking about Earth’s rotations and revolutions.  Ask your kiddo what their favorite planet is!

If you can’t stand the heat….stay out of the second-grade kitchen! Things sure are heating up as we try and explore new foods. This week’s special feature was hummus!

We finished up the review of the -nk sound in phonics and several friends have finished their summer writing assignments. They are excited to have them showcased for you to see at parent’s night!

In math, we have been practicing our fact fluency and reviewing our doubles facts.  We spent time learning how a hundred chart works and will continue with number patterns next week.  Pretty soon we will be adding two-digit numbers!
