Creekside Deep Dive and Field Trip Recap!

  • In order to best share ALL of the photos Mrs. Farris and Mrs. Wallace took on the trip, we have compiled them all in one large Google Drive folder that is linked below. YOU WILL NEED TO REQUEST ACCESS.
  • Kindly be advised, that these are ALL of the pictures. Meaning there are many photos of detailed fish dissections and snakes, among other things. Your children are BRAVE!

“It’s an adventure,” was our motto throughout the 5th grade field trip. While many things on the trip may have gone unplanned, it did not bring our spirits down. We remained eager to discover and learn even when sopping wet. The class camaraderie shined through supporting each other during the storm, fish dissection, island discovery, holding turtles or snakes, and even illness. When students stepped out of their comfort zones, every student showed support and compassion which is truly remarkable. They were commended for their bravery and tenacity today with a special donut treat during snack!

Our fifth grade students began their weekly session for their special Internship program with Mrs. Rutherford! Students are learning how to write resumes, send professional emails, and explore opportunities available to them throughout the year on campus at WCDS. Students must have their resumes completed by Wednesday, September 13th. Your child may need help writing their address on the resume.

WCDS Ambassador Program:

Today was the first official use of our fifth grade student ambassadors! The beginning of WCDS We-2 program for children and their parents began today in our preschool room. Fifth graders greeted these families to campus, directed them to the room, and provided warm welcoming faces for these families coming to WCDS. They are honing their skills as we prepare to help on Grandparents Day next month!
