Our students kicked off the last rollerskating day of the year! After a few weeks, ice skating will make its return. Mrs. McFadden has asked that 7th and 8th grade students please pick up a copy of the book, When Stars Are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed.

  • Pre-Algebra w/ Mrs. Boldrick – We moved into learning about exponents and the laws of exponents. The students are reminded that the previous skills they learned, in this case adding and subtracting integers, are being used in subsequent skills such as exponents. They’ve been working on assignments online, Delta Math, which provides practice and reinforcement of the skills their learning.
  • Algebra w/ Mrs. Murray-In Algebra, we reviewed properties of real numbers, and writing and evaluating algebraic expressions.  We completed our aims web testing.  Friday we worked on an assignment called “Do you want to be a Millionaire?”
  • Music w/ Mrs. Chelsey – We reviewed our “quarter beat” notations and 7th grade helped introduce the 6th grade to the rhythm game “Pass the beat around the room”. Ask your kids to play it with you!!;)
  • Science w/ Mrs. Farris – Students learned the parts of a microscope and their functions. They explored both compound and stereo. After labeling parts, students were asked to view the letter “e” under the microscope. The activity introduced students to the field of view and found the inversion characteristics of the compound microscope. We prepared hay infusions to observe next week under the microscope!
