Talk about an exciting week! We had our first field trip! The kiddos got to learn and explore the Challenger Center.  They loved learning about rockets and loved launching them even more! We took a trip to the moon in a planetarium and explored several hands-on stations.

We started place value in math.  We are using base ten blocks to build and manipulate numbers. In the upcoming days, we will begin expanded form as well as two digit addition.

In phonics, we practiced the -dge /j/ sound. It’s a tricky one but they seem to be catching on! Students are working on a fall corn maze writing. They are really using their imaginations. We can’t wait for you to read them! We also started practicing how to read for comprehension.  The kiddos are reading short books independently and answer questions all on their own. We are working on strategies such as rereading and using context clues!

See you on Monday!
