Class Blurbs

  • English w/ Mr. Rouse- This week, students wrapped up their Aimsweb testing and continued their reading of I Must Betray You. We still have a good chunk of the book to go, but the 8th graders seem to be enjoying it!
  • Algebra w/ Mrs. Murray-this week in Algebra, we covered sets and operations, and various operations with matrices.
  • Pre-Algebra w/ Mrs. Boldrick – We spent a lot of time this week reviewing adding and subtracting integers along with applying the Laws of Exponents. The students worked hard at understanding the steps and processes. We took a break from exponents and moved on to learning the Distributive Property. We’ll continue practicing this skill next week.
  • Deep Dive w/ Mr. Jividen and Mrs. McFadden- We are excited to host some very special guests next week!
  • Music w/ Mrs. Chelsey – This week students were asked to compose their own rhythms, which will be presented next week in class. We made rhythm dice to help with composing and to use as a game. Students were also introduced to the Shruti Box (ask them what country this instrument is from) – they created their own chords with it, and we did a “toning” or humming exercise with it. They seemed to think it was pretty cool!
