*A note from Jessica Maxwell*

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your children at Wheeling Country Day School.  Two years ago we had sweltering heat, last year brought the cold and this year we had the perfect temperature! Finally! I had a blast with them.

Below you will find the link for photo selections.

You can navigate to your child’s grade and locate their folder which encloses 2-3 options. Please select the photo you would like printed with your package by using the HEART.  Please only HEART one photo.

Please note that in order to streamline the process this year, final edits will be made to the photo you select before they are sent to print.  If not already caught, I will fix things like specks of food on their faces or clothes, reflections in glasses etc. One final note on glasses-if you see a photo of your child without their  glasses, you can choose to select it and the glasses will be added in before printing.

Please make your selections this weekend or by Monday October 2nd. If you have any questions over the weekend or need to schedule absentee/make-ups please text me stating your child’s name/grade and the question. You can reach me at 740-296-9700.

Make-up day will be this coming Tuesday  October 3rd.

Thank you very much,

6th grade news

  • English w/ Mrs. McFadden – Today we finished the last chapter of Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief! We will continue to work on our original myths Monday and Tuesday. We will begin watching the movie on Wednesday. It is rated PG. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Next week will also be our last week with Ms. G. She will be missed!
  • Foundations of Pre-Algebra w/ Mrs. Murray-we began the week by reviewing multi-digit multiplication.  We then got back into the book with some multiplication with decimals.  Friday, we played mathological liar, and solved crimes using our math skills.
  • Deep Dive w/ Mr. K and Mr. Rouse
  • Music w/Mrs. Chelsey – Students presented their given rhythms Wednesday, and Friday was all about vibrations and sound waves! We used several mediums including air, water with tuning forks, and salt on a homemade chladni plate to show how sound travels, as well as how we can see it (cymatics)!
  • Art w/Mr. K
  • Science w/ Mrs. Farris – Students set up an experiment to determine the best growing medium. They worked together to practice their skills of identifying scientific variables, making a hypothesis, and creating a procedure. We continued to collaborate as a team to construct the grow tower. Students worked together to follow instructions and troubleshoot until the grow tower build was complete!
