*A note from Jessica Maxwell*
Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your children at Wheeling Country Day School.  Two years ago we had sweltering heat, last year brought the cold and this year we had the perfect temperature! Finally! I had a blast with them.

Below you will find the link for photo selections.
You can navigate to your child’s grade and locate their folder which encloses 2-3 options. Please select the photo you would like printed with your package by using the HEART.  Please only HEART one photo.

Please note that in order to streamline the process this year, final edits will be made to the photo you select before they are sent to print.  If not already caught, I will fix things like specks of food on their faces or clothes, reflections in glasses etc. One final note on glasses-if you see a photo of your child without their  glasses, you can choose to select it and the glasses will be added in before printing.
Please make your selections this weekend or by Monday October 2nd. If you have any questions over the weekend or need to schedule absentee/make-ups please text me stating your child’s name/grade and the question. You can reach me at 740-296-9700.
Make-up day will be this coming Tuesday  October 3rd.

Thank you very much,

While our self-portraits are coming together, we continued to put ourselves first. The students were invited to create a personalized peg person to represent themselves. Using paint and then Flair pens, the students were sure to include some unique details. Goggles, luscious locks of hair, defined shirt sleeves, and even fancy shoes. What we love is how each student interprets themselves in their own intentional way. While some gave exact details of their bodies, others went the more abstract route and painted their peg wildly. We look forward to seeing how these miniature versions of the students will be used in their daily explorations and play.

In Math this week we took on a round of Math Centers all about numbers. The students stamped numbers in sequential order in play dough, designed collage-like images using loose parts and a set number, built towers of Unifix cubes, practiced number writing, and rolled dice to show a number using ten frames. They are becoming quite comfortable with all things numbers and we look forward to introducing a new concept next week.

Phonics has brought us a new letter, the letter Ff. We also took on a new sight word, you. Using these new skills, we are starting our journey to becoming little readers. The students are already sounding out and blending words, both by sight and spelling.

We look forward to having special guests on campus this coming week. We have already begun preparing for their arrival. The students had some great ideas to make them feel welcome in our space.

Have a wonderful weekend!
