Hello Preschool Families!

“Grandparents aren’t old, they have just been having fun longer” This certainly was evident as we watched both grandparents/special persons and your children’s faces light up, smile and laugh as they spent their morning together sharing the classroom space, showing their special people how their mornings begin and all of the things they are learning! We then shared a special story titled “The Hello, Goodbye Window” by Norton Juster and Chris Raschka A story that defines the special relationship between a little girl and her grandparents and the most magical place in the house, the kitchen window. A place where the most important things happen whether it be near it, through it or beyond it. Proving that the world seen through a child’s eyes is truly magic. They were then invited to create their own hello, goodbye window pane with their special people on their very own hand outline. Giving us all a little place to say hello to our favorite people whether they be near or far.

This week the children were introduced to our letter card pack. We are beginning with the most important letters first … the first letter of their name and their friends names! They were also given a card with the first letter of their names and play dough. They were then prompted to manipulate the play dough into that letter. They used their knowledge of lines and how they are formed and got down to business! They also added the last piece to our “dots”, which are now beautifully displayed from our ceiling, their names! The kiddos traced their names with oil pastels and were then invited to water color over top. We are blown away with their budding handwriting skills already!

We hope that whatever window you look out of this weekend that the view is just as magical as the one we have in preschool! Have a wonderful fall weekend and we will see you Tuesday!
