In math we started… multiplication! The kiddos learned several approaches to receiving a product such as skip counting, equal groups, and arrays! In ELA this week, the kiddos continued to expand on morphology. This week students learned 3 suffixes and 4 base words! The kiddos are really warming up to morphology. They have expanded their vocabulary by building definitions for unknown words by using context clues! See if they can give you a definition for an unfamiliar word! Our reading concept this week focused on character and character traits. Students made their own character and described them using 3 words. We also read short stories and determined how the character felt. These activities will help the kiddos as we are diving into our first literature circle next week!

Our National Park deep dive was wrapped up by having our fifth grade come and visit our classroom. They viewed each student’s project/diorama and asked great questions! Way to go 3rd & 5th!  In zoology this week, students continued researching their animal of choice.

Thank you to all families who joined us at our First Fall Fest at Wheeling Park! We had a blast and hope you all did too.

Please tag us both when sending emails and/or Talking Points if you have any questions or concerns this school year: hwilliams@wcdsedu.com  & pbuck@wcdsedu.com
