Progress Reports should be available to you in the parent portal in Veracross by Thursday, November 16th. While bugs are still a hot topic this bunch has got books on the brain! From picture books to pop-up books and even flip books this group wants to know all there is to know about books. What better way to support their passion for reading than a good ol’ fashion trip to the library?! Thankfully we have our Northern Branch classroom in perfect proximity to our Ohio County Public Library. Therefore, we will have class there on Thursday, November 16th. Drop off will begin at 8:20am and pick up will begin at 3:00pm. If you’ve never been to our branch classroom, it is in the old Student Union building at Northern (8 16th St. Wheeling, WV 26003). If your child needs before/after care and will need a ride to and/or from main campus, please let us know!

Phonics has brought us new sounds and sight words. We’ve been working on new word families and understanding the concept of sentences. All the students are excited to see the sight words we’ve been learning in class throughout their books in their book boxes. We’ve got some serious book worms coming out of the mud! In math we’ve been fully emerged into the world of symmetry. The students have been fascinated to see all the things in the real world that are symmetrical and have loved creating their own symmetrical images as well. Smoosh painting was definitely a fan fav!

We would be lying if we said that our first ever Run In Color – Color Run wasn’t the highlight of the week! The kiddos were thrilled to be blasted with colors and sport their colorful wristbands and sunglasses. What better way to end a colorful week?!

We hope you have a great weekend!
