What a week! I am so proud proud of the 8th grade for their dedication ensuring that the first exhibition was a success. They worked hard for twelve weeks and it shows. A special thanks to the parents who volunteered to share their stories with us. It was awesome to see the White House Christmas Tree as it stopped at Wheeling Park. Finally, I am grateful for all of you who helped make the Color Run helpful. It was great to see so many 8th grade parents step up and help!

A note about Veracross

On Monday, you should receive an email from Asylnn Belancic about Veracross, our new database. This email will provide directions on how to set up an account with Veracross. We will continue using Praxi until we have transitioned all aspects of the school, but we will begin with progress reports for the first trimester. Progress Reports should be available to you in the parent portal in Veracross by Thursday, November 16th. Should you need help logging in after receiving the email on Monday, please email abelancic@wcdsedu.com to assist you by phone or attend the parent coffee on Wednesday.

8th Grade Blurbs

English w/ Mr. Rouse- Students continued their reading of We Are Not Free and ended the week with an Erasure Poem. An Erasure is when you take a song, famous newspaper, or poem and eliminate parts of the works. You take what’s leftover and create a new piece.

Deep Dive w/ Mr. Jividen and Mrs. McFadden- Thanks for a great twelve weeks. You thought you were done with us, but we start WCDS Zine next week!

Music w/ Mrs. Chelsey – We continued working on mapping out our new instrument additions to the Sound Bath, and finding our rhythm with how it will all flow. The students are all doing a great job at focusing! We also began learning Silent Night, as 8th grade will now be participating in the Holiday Show. They will be doing some singing and sign language!

Elective w/ Mrs. Boldrick or Mr. Alex – Coding/Robotics – everyone is signed up for two Nutcracker Ballet shows. Thank you!
