Progress Reports are available to you in the parent portal in Veracross Should you need help logging in please email to assist you by phone.

Hello Preschool Families!

If there is one thing we know about Preschool it’s that they sure do know how to light up a room! This week, while we have been in preparation for Thanksgiving, the children learned that other people and places celebrate different Holidays. We read the story “Binny’s Diwali” an enchanting story about a little girl named Binny who is excited to share her favorite holiday but struggles to find the words. As she finds her confidence her classmates clamor with excitement over the bursts of color and lights that can be seen during the Diwali Hindu Festival of Lights. We thought what better way to tie the idea of light and Thanksgiving together than to create their very own lanterns for a table centerpiece!? The children were provided wax paper, oil pastels, dried flowers petals, leaves, glitter and tea lights to create a beautiful show of light and nature.

I’m not sure if you already know who is carving your turkey, but your kiddos sure do have some ideas! Who is up for the task? A Killer Whale? Tyrannosaurus Rex? Maybe a Saber Tooth Tiger!? Inspired by Jerry Pallotta’s story “Who is Carving the Turkey?” The children did a little journaling with a single prompt… Who Will Carve the Turkey? Their answers were nothing short of creative and hilarious!

Lucas – “My Dad… I think he knows how to.”

Sophia – “A lion”

Mylah – “Grandad would!”

Clara -“A Turkey”

Stylee – “A Chicken”

Preston – “A Green Boy”

Henry – “A Shark”

Aubrey – “A Mermaid”

Evelyn – “A Dinosaur”

Leonardo – “Two Pumpkin Heads”

Parker – “A crazy bobble headed animal”

Forrest – “Mommy”

Bohdi- “A turkey at the playground”

Noah – “My doggy Sage”

Lola -“My Mommy”

Dax – “My Dad”

Emma – “A Tiger!”

Lenni – “A Turkey”

Heidi – “A Goblin”

We wrapped up our week with more Gratitude than our hearts could handle! The Children were given large white ” grateful feathers” and were tasked to fill the entire thing with color and “beautiful things” such as tissue paper, feathers, gems and glitter and most importantly gratitude. We will add the finishing touches on Tuesday morning before we gather together as one big family with the entire school to give thanks for the place that we call home. Speaking of gratitude, we would like to extend a big thank you to each and everyone of you for your support during 29 Hours! We get to show up every day and do what we love because of you, your children and your unwavering support and dedication to your children’s education.

Have a warm and deLIGHTful weekend!
