As the wonderful Dr. Seuss said, “You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a good book.” As you know, the SK classroom has been a buzz the last few weeks as the students have been working tirelessly on their books. Careful consideration has been put into all of the individual parts, from the settings to the characters to the detailed illustrations. We have seen each of them take their initial idea and foster it to become true works of literary beauty. As the final touches were put on this week, we officially declared ourselves published. We proudly present to you the newest company in town…the SK Rainbow Publishing Company. We even have a logo! We cannot wait to have a release party next week to share these new books with our school community, as well as for you all to see them during our Holiday Night on Thursday. You will be sure to be just as proud of your children as we are! They have really shined throughout this entire study!

When we weren’t working on our books, the students were revisiting their number work in Math by tackling place value. Using our base ten blocks, we quickly learned about ones, tens, and even hundreds. The students worked hard to match the number with the correct number of blocks, paying close attention to the proper position of each number. With the break approaching quickly, next week we will be doing one last round of Math centers to review everything we have learned thus far.

What makes a week even better? Having a pajama, pizza, and dance party midweek. The students rocked it out in the gym, showing off their fancy feet and break dance moves to all of the other grades. They were definitely the best dancers out there!

We hope you have a fabulous weekend and see you on Monday!
