Hello JK families,

We had a joyful week in JK preparing for our Winter Family Night! Finishing touches were added to all our home projects. The drawings of the children’s houses and their commentary were displayed, their clay houses were turned into glowing lanterns, and our giant interior house was given a front yard and sidewalk. We read the story that was featured at family night, Snow Globe Wishes by Erin Dealey to the class a few days in advance so they could help bring our part of the story walk to life. The JK classroom featured the snowy traffic jam that was depicted in the story. The class made their own roads and measured how many unifix cubes each piece of pavement stretched. They helped create a snowy road system using snow paint and glitter, and even made their very own road signs! Our box cars were completed and our lifesize road became a reality. When the night finally arrived we loved seeing the joy and pride on the children’s faces as they shared their creations with you. Thank you for taking the time to look closely at their projects and words. We hope they enjoyed the magic of the night as they ventured on a story walk and were invited to experience the big snow storm, the snowy traffic jam, the power outage and family fort building in each of the early childhood classrooms. Oh, and of course the snowglobe send-off! We asked the children to reflect on the evening and to share their favorite moment from the night. Here’s what they said:
“The snow.” -Mia

“Going to the classroom, the cars.”-Caston

“The cars.”- Cora

“Everything.”- Gemma

“The story.”-Bradley

“It was snowing outside.”-Dermot

“The hot chocolate.” -Rowan

“The gingerbread men in preschool.”- Regina

“The hot chocolate.”  -Hudson

“Every single thing.” -Jackson

“Playing in first grade.” -Pierce

“Mini treat bags, in the gym.”-Griffin

We cherish the opportunity to create memorable moments in the lives of your children. They are our second family. Thank you for trusting in us!

We wish you a wonderful weekend,

Miss Liz & Miss Gina
