**We love when the kiddos bring waterproof shoes and jackets on rainy days! Also, its going to be cold next week, bundle up!

We’ve had a great first full-week back with our second-graders. I know some of the kiddos were dragging their feet on Monday morning, but we kept the energy high with a great week of learning. We learned how word problems show us how to use math in our lives! There was a little confusion with this new concept at first, but we figured it out by drawing pictures and making number sentences. We’re wrapping up our “how-to” papers, and we’re ready for our exciting cooking show project! In phonics, we learned a brand new spelling rule called doubling to add suffixes to words with one syllable, short vowel, and final consonant. Be sure to ask your kiddos about it! What is the most important thing we have to care for? Our bodies!!! In deep dive, we’ve had a very exciting start to studying the human body! The kiddos have learned about the respiratory system and the circulatory system. We are impressed with their ability to recall some of our most important organs and the way that they function. Check out some of these models we made in class! During kids in the kitchen, we made homemade chicken salad! It was quite the hit! Cheers to trying new things!

Stay warm this weekend!
