7th Grade Newsletter

  • English w/ Mr. Rouse – Students continued their work on a social media themed essay. We also started Howl’s Moving Castle. We didn’t have many classes this week with the delay, snow day, and MLK day.
  • Science w/ Mrs. Farris – The drone build unit is complete! It may have taken us a little longer than planned, but we did it. The students learned beyond the mechanics and science of the project – patience and perseverance. While some cameras were installed upside down, propellers backward, or wires crossed, the class showed determination and unity by troubleshooting together. A highlight of many was the VR headset to really get a “birds eye view.”
  • Elective w/ Mr. McFadden- This week in Cultural Cooking, Mrs. Flannigan stopped in to show us how to make a traditional Filipino snack, lumpia. It was deep fried deliciousness! She also made puto (a steamed rice cake) for us to try, while some of the other students made chicken adobo and garlic fried rice.
