Second Trimester is slowly making its way to an end. It’s crazy how fast the time goes.

  • English w/ Mr. Rouse – Students continued their reading of Howl’s Moving Castle and wrapped up a famous person article for Black History Month.
  • Pre-Algebra w/ Mrs. Boldrick – The students have been working very hard with navigating through each operation using fractions and sometimes negative fractions. They will have a test on fractions next week on Tuesday, February 20. We’ll move into doing order of operations using positive and negative fractions.
  • Algebra w/ Mrs. Murray-We continued our work with linear equations, learning about formulas for perpendicular and parallel lines.
  • Music w/ Mrs. Chelsey – This week students continued learning all the line and space notes in the treble clef scale. We created a large stave on the floor and made large “notes” to practice knowing where they go. It was a fun way to see it! We are also in the final stage of our Mozart body percussion piece. We will be filming next week and I will let you know when it will be up on the WCDS Youtube Channel for viewing!
  • Science w/ Mrs. Farris – Planting week! Students put their experimental design into action and set up an experiment to test the soil composition of lunar regolith blended with mushroom compost. Their aim is the mushroom compost will add microbes that are not present in the lunar regolith.
  • Elective w/ Mrs. Boldrick – The students are working diligently on their final design project. We are seeing creativity and ingenuity as they try new techniques such as using a sewing machine or using a hand saw (with teacher supervision of course!). The final projects are due the Thursday before we leave for spring break.
