**This year for our school-wide Spring Egg Hunt, we are asking for your help. If you would like to donate a dozen eggs filled with candy, stickers, or small toys, our fifth graders will hide them for each of the classes on the morning of Thursday, March 28th. If you are able to help, please send the filled eggs to school with your child by next Friday, March 22nd.

This week we learned about Magic E and super-hero vowels. Mrs. Fuentes soared into the classroom as super hero A and then handed her powers over to Ian. Students compared short and long vowels throughout the week and used Magic E wands to transform words.

We continued our discussion on shapes , segueing to 3D shapes. Students explored various items in the classroom, played games and then we discussed vertices, edges, and faces.

Our deep dive this week was all about water! The students were able to use their creativity side to decorate their own water cycle paper plates and they even got to become scientist for the day as they created their own water cycle in a plastic bag!

A leprechaun visited first grade on Friday. He challenged the class to solve math problems to unlock a box that held a special surprise. The class was successful at cracking the code. Each student received a book mark, pencil, and gold coin as reward for their hard work. It was a fun afternoon thanks to Lenny the Leprechaun!

We hope that one of our students are unable to trap a leprechaun over the weekend! Happy St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy the weekend!
