  • Ms. Carrie from the Ohio County Public Library visited our class to tell students about a new teen area coming to the library. She also told the class about some cool programs at the library, such as an introduction to crochet and an upcoming Harry Potter party. Then she read from the book “Wonder” and passed a ball around to facilitate discussion. She was very engaging!

Math w/ Mrs. McFadden

  • Upcoming Tests/Quizes- none scheduled
  • Our x’s are back! We learned to not use x for multiplication in algebra. We squish x in with the number when we want to multiply (5x). Students also practiced expressions like x-5 when x=10. They are doing a great job with these new concepts!

Science w/ Mrs. Farris –

  • Upcoming Tests/Quizzes – no test or quiz scheduled
  • Students began learning parts of a seed and labeled a diagram in their science journals.
  • Day 7 of our germination experiment led several students to see their bean begin to germinate. And sparked questions that we will investigate next week! (mold growth, germination without light, etc)
  • They made observations using their new vocabulary as many radicals and a few hypocotyls developed!
