Second grade is all in for turkey month! We’ve been diving into fun Thanksgiving stories, silly turkey tales, and talking about gratitude. The kids have a new writing project where they get to pretend they’re turkeys trying to dodge Thanksgiving dinner—such a fun way to get creative! In phonics, we tackled the /er/ sound, and in math, we worked on spotting number patterns and did some station work to review what we’ve learned so far. Buckle up, because next week we’re jumping into regrouping, which is always a big challenge!
Instead of our usual kitchen activity, we practiced restaurant manners this week! The kids took turns ordering for themselves and learned fun ways to pass the time without screens. They had a blast “going out” with their friends. And in our space deep dive, we’re learning all about the sun! The kids are super into it, so ask them to share what they’ve learned!
