It’s been another “flavorful” week of learning in third grade, and we’ve cooked up a lot of fun activities! Here’s a bite-sized look at what we’ve been up to:
We “tackled” the tricky “ough” sound this week. It helped us review present and past tense. From “bring” to “brought,” our students are learning to master these puzzling letter combinations. It’s safe to say we’re now experts in phon-omenal sounds!
We dove into the world of memoirs, and our young writers are sharing their personal stories with style! They’re learning to reflect on their memories and put it into a “seed story” rather than a “watermelon story.” Ask your kiddo the difference between the two!
Students “cooked up” their own restaurant menus and catalogs in math class! By pricing items, organizing categories, and adding up totals, they’re learning about money and math in a way that’s sure to leave everyone hungry for more!
Last, but not least: Our adopted calf Peony won the “Cutest Calf” contest! Thanks ever so much to all who voted her to the top of the podium! Also, students participated in puppet shows during drama this week. Mr. Hill was so kind and shared several photos of our puppeteers. Fun!
