This week in second grade, we started working on subtraction with regrouping—a challenging skill we’ll continue to practice throughout the year. In literature circles, the kids are loving the cliffhangers at the end of each chapter.
Be sure to check out their turkey writings when they come home—they’ve come up with some funny and creative ways to escape Thanksgiving dinner! Speaking of Thanksgiving, we made mini pumpkin pies during Kids in the Kitchen, and they were a big hit!
For our deep dive, we explored the moon and satellites. The students are now working in groups to design their own satellite using loose parts, each with a special function to help us here on Earth.
Have a great weekend! See you next week for a short week!
