We can’t believe this is the last blog of 2024! Our first graders have worked very hard with their independence and becoming second graders in training! We look forward to the upcoming year.
The students in the Book Club read a chapter book called “November Night”. They got the pleasure of completing a readers theater from their favorite chapter from the book. The students rehearsed their parts, created their characters and put them on popsicle sticks to bring out their creative side and show all of their fellow classmates what the characters looked like. The students in the book club did an excellent job with being able to memorize their part as well as present it to the rest of the class.
Our kiddos are working hard to complete their second Monster Math booklet, which covers subtraction through 10. The next challenge in the new year will be combining both addition and subtraction.
Our class elf built her own train with super heroes as passengers. Because this was also Polar Express Day, the class received special tickets to be able to watch the movie! Wearing PJ’s made the day extra special and cozy!
We hope you all have a wonderful Holiday and break. We look forward being 2nd graders in training when we return and welcoming Miss Brittany in her full time student teaching experience. Please be sure to check your child’s folder for our Winter Break Reading Challenge. We hope you find many fun ways to practice those reading skills over break and bond together over a good book.
