The second grade will have their Valentine’s Party on 2/14. Children are welcome to bring in boxes and paper valentines! We will make their class treat during kids in the kitchen!

Third grade will be hosting Market Day on Friday, February 21st! On this day, five student-run stores will be set up, offering a variety of homemade items for sale: bookmarks, bracelets, dog treats, energy snacks, and pencil cases.
Prices will range from $1 to $3. All proceeds will go toward supporting a local charity, and we would greatly appreciate your support! Please send your child with small bills if they choose to participate. Thank you for helping make this a successful and meaningful experience for our students.
We started off the week strong with a field trip the Brooke Hills Animal Hospital. It was an awesome trip and the kiddos got to learn all of the things that require to keep an animal safe and healthy. They even got a stethescope and got to listen to a dogs heart beat! Thank you so mcu to Betsy and her team!
In phonics we learned the doubling rule. It can be a bit tricky but the kiddos are working hard at it! We have several memiors hanging on the wall and they should be coming home soon!
In math the kiddos learned how to make change and we tapped into their love of playing store. We let them order items and “pay for them” and then practice giving change!
We started a new deep dive! We are studying geography. We discussed the 7 continents and how they are made up of countries. We tied this in with kids in the kitchen by making home made pasta with the kiddos. We discussed how it originated in Italy and listened to Dean Martin while we rolled pasta! Whatta week!
