- Winter Long Weekend: February 7- February 10. Classes resume at 10:00am on Feb 11. Enjoy!
- Our preschoolers have become really interested in babies lately, especially since some of their friends have welcomed new siblings. As we explore the theme of babies and families, we’d love for each child to share a baby photo of themselves with the class. Please send a picture via email, text, or by bringing it in. Thank you!
- Starting in the new year, our preschool class will begin having community snacks. This will be a fun way for the children to build independence, as they’ll help set the tables, prepare and distribute the snacks, and clean up afterward. We’re asking families to sign up to bring snacks for the class for one week. You will provide snacks for 20 students for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning snack times. Monday and Friday snacks, as well as afternoon snacks, will remain individual, as usual. Click to sign up for your family’s week. Thanks!

Dear Preschool Families,
These precious answers will tug at your heart strings like they did ours.
What do you know about babies?
Roman: “My mom pushed the baby out and it came out. Babies sleep in the crib. They drink milk.”
Evelyn: “You need to be gentle with babies. They’re sad and cry a lot and say goo goo.”
Atticus: “My mom had a baby in my moms belly.”
Avery: “I be gentle to my baby. Mommy give him a pacifier when they need something. They poop and pee a lot and you have to change their pull-ups. “
Isla: “They need a binky.”
Clara: “There’s a baby in my belly. They need a paci.”
Hunter: “My dad has a baby in his belly.”
Archie: “My baby just drink a bottle and i just touch them and be gentle. My baby name is Shanti and and and I put a binky and bobby to him.”
Ben: “My baby drinks 1 cup of milk and he plays with me.”
Khy: “They don’t drink water yet.”
Lincoln: “Sometimes I like to laugh at babies.”
Lily: “I was growing in mommy’s belly a long time ago.”
We also had a baby time provocation where the children had a chance to play with the classroom babies. Bottles, Bibs, and Blankets oh my! They were having fun feeding, clothing, and playing with the babies. We also read a cute book titled Babies Don’t Eat Pizza. A warm and engaging story that touches on the anticipation of a new baby in the family. The story taught the children where babies live before the enter the world and how they grow. The water color illustrations show all families caring for and getting to know their new arrival.
We did all things letter “B” during our provocations. The children listened and participated in songs and practiced writing the letter B in the sky, using “baby powder” in trays, tracing with colorful beads, and building with wooden pieces that resembles lines and curves.
Here is some information about our upcoming Valentine’s Day activities.
Valentine’s Day will be celebrated in Preschool on Thursday, February 13th! The children are invited to bring in Valentine cards to share with their friends. We’ll also be decorating Valentine’s boxes or bags in class, so no need to worry about doing anything at home. We’re looking forward to a fun celebration!
Have a nice Weekend!
