Dear Families,
We had an exciting and productive week in 2nd grade! Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on:
Math: ⏰ This week, we focused on mastering how to tell time to the exact minute! The kiddos worked hard and had fun practicing their skills. Be sure to ask them to read the clock at home!
Spelling & Phonics: ✏️ We learned a new spelling rule—dropping the silent e before adding a vowel suffix. The students did a great job practicing and applying this rule in their writing. Try asking them to give you examples at home!
Literature Circles: 📖 Our literature circles are in full swing! The kids are doing a wonderful job working in their groups, sharing their thoughts, and discussing their books. It’s amazing to see their reading skills grow!
Humphrey Book & Writing: 🐹 We finished another Humphrey book, and now we’re going to use the characters from the books in our next writing assignment: comparing and contrasting. The students are excited to dive into this activity and explore the characters more deeply!
Kids in the Kitchen: 🍪 We put on our chef hats and made a sweet treat this week! The students had a blast working together in the kitchen and, of course, enjoying their delicious creations!
Valentine’s Day Fun: ❤️ We wrapped up our week with a special Valentine’s exchange! The room was filled with kindness, friendship, and lots of smiles.
Thank you for your continued support! Have a fantastic weekend!
Best,
Laura, Carly, and Bekah
