UPCOMING DATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hello SK Families,

The weather is finally shifting into beautiful spring-like temperatures, and we are taking full advantage of it! Outdoor learning is our specialty here, and there’s nothing better than embracing the fresh air and sunshine while we learn. This week, we’ve been enjoying yoga in the amphitheater, stretching and moving our bodies while listening to the sounds of nature. Storytime has also found a new home outside, where we can relax on the grass.

After an exciting transformation, the children took the lead in putting our classroom back together just the way they wanted. They carefully placed materials, arranged cozy learning areas, and even took the initiative to wipe down the shelving to make everything feel fresh and new. Our beautiful new floor has given the space a bright and inviting feel, inspiring the children to take ownership of their environment. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and take pride in their classroom.

Our Celebrate project is in full swing! Our authentic clock remains a central focus in the children’s creativity, so why not turn it into our math lesson! The children have been actively engaged in understanding how time connects to our daily routines. Through exploration, they are discovering how the numbers on the clock help us track important moments in our day, from morning meetings to snack time and special celebrations. They are practicing identifying the hour and minute hands, recognizing number patterns, and even creating their own schedules.

In phonics, the kiddos are continuing to show us just how big their brains are! We introduced and tackled the concept pf open and closed syllables. The students were in awe as they watched the cabinet open and close to determine whether the vowel would be long or short. We then took this concept and put it into practice, outside! We had so much fun spelling new and old words with chalk outside.

Have a wonderful weekend!!
