We were busy, busy bees in second grade this week!
In phonics, our kiddos worked hard practicing the suffixes -er and -est—they’re becoming comparative masters! We also explored persuasive writing, and it was a blast seeing their passionate opinions come to life. These kids have some strong and creative ideas!
Math was extra exciting as we built catapults to launch pom-poms and measured whose flew the farthest! Then, we dived into liquid measurements, learning all about the Kingdom of Gallon—what a royal adventure!
For Kids in the Kitchen, we made mango chia pudding! It was a fun experiment, and the reactions were priceless—about a 50/50 split between love and “no, thank you!”
Our deep dive took us into the world of plants! We placed seeds in baggies by the windows to watch them sprout, then studied the parts of a plant and why each one is so important.
Oh, and we can’t forget—we wrapped up our Celebrate project! Seeing their flowers come to life was pure magic.
Another wonderful week full of learning, fun, and discovery!
