English w/ Mrs. McFadden – 

  • Upcoming Tests/Quizzes- Daily Dose Quiz Thursday
  • Students completed their Parker Inheritance Essays.
  • We began reading Miracles on Maple Hill, which ties in beautifully with Mrs. Farris’ maple sugaring unit!
  • We were highly entertained by the new children’s librarian at the OCPL! He had them up moving around and had the best read-aloud voice for The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors!

Math w/ Mrs. McFadden

  • Upcoming Tests/Quizzes- Chapter 6 quiz -Tuesday
  • We wrapped up unit 6, which was a review of the greatest common factor and least common multiple. These review skills will be necessary as we move into operations with fractions.

Science w/ Mrs. Farris – 

  • Upcoming Tests/Quizzes – No test or quiz scheduled 
  • Students gained firsthand experience in grading maple syrup based on its 
  • Even though we’ve had below-freezing nights and warm days this week, the trees are no longer producing sap—but why?
  • A closer look revealed that the trees’ buds are bursting, diligently working to bring forth their leaves. This discovery led us into our new unit of study: phenology!
  • We walked through the park to observe and identify different phenophases, deepening our understanding of nature’s seasonal changes.

Music w/Mrs. Chelsey – 

  • Sunday is our Nailers performance!! The students did a great job rehearsing it this week, and they are going to rock it!!! See you Sunday in the lobby of Wesbanco Arena at 3:15!
  • We will be recording “Here Comes the Sun” on Wednesday – it sounds fantastic, and I appreciate the students dedication to making this song awesome!!
  • This week’s music journal entry was “How can music help us learn about different cultures?”
