A Joyful Start to Our Preschool Journey!

A Look at Our Week:

What a wonderful week we’ve had in preschool! We’re settling beautifully into our new routine, including eating lunch together and exploring what a full day at school looks like for some of our friends. The children have shown so much excitement and curiosity as they get used to their school day — it’s truly a joy to watch them grow more confident and comfortable each day.

Our classroom centers have been a big hit! The kitchen area has been buzzing with pretend meals and imaginative play, while the block center has been filled with budding architects creating towers and cities. The light table and sand table have also been popular spots for sensory exploration and creativity. It’s been so heartwarming to see the children collaborate, share, and problem-solve together.

We’ve also been focusing on practicing our daily routines, from transitioning between activities to cleaning up and caring for our classroom. With each passing day, the children are becoming more familiar with “how school works,” and they’re doing a fantastic job!

This week, we began a special preschool tradition: our monthly self-portraits. We started with black-and-white photos taken on the first day of school and turned them into unique works of art. First, the children used highlighters to add bright, beautiful color to their pictures. Then came the really fun part — dipping paintbrushes into glue and adding loose parts like beads, buttons, and ribbons to bring their portraits to life. These precious creations will be displayed in our classroom, and we can’t wait for you to see them the next time you visit!

Another exciting part of our week was exploring mindfulness. We introduced the children to mindful listening with a calming chime activity. With eyes closed and hands raised, the children practiced listening closely and lowering their hands as the sound of the chime faded away. This activity helps us build self-awareness and calm transitions throughout our day.

Thank you, as always, for your support and for sharing your amazing children with us. We are off to a great start and look forward to more joyful learning and growing together!
