We had a wonderful week of learning and growing together in 3rd grade. Here’s a peek into what your students have been up to:
Math: We reviewed number lines and place value this week. The students practiced breaking apart numbers and seeing how they fit on the number line, which helps them build a strong foundation for problem-solving.
Phonics: Our focus was on the suffix -ed. Students became detectives as they learned and reviewed how this ending can make different sounds and practiced spotting and using it in their reading and writing.
Writing: We are becoming authors! Each student has started creating their very own memoir. It’s exciting to watch them reflect on their lives and begin crafting stories from their own experiences.
Deep Dive: Our big topic is Mammals! The students are curious scientists, learning what makes mammals unique and exploring examples from the animal kingdom.
The Ohio County Library came to visit us on Friday and the students loved hearing different stories, participating in a freeze dance while learning about all that the library has to offer.
We’re so proud of the effort, creativity, and enthusiasm the students are bringing each day. It’s wonderful to see them building confidence as learners and thinkers.
