English w/ Mr. Rouse –
- Upcoming Tests/Quizzes- Vocab Test Wednesday
- Students continued their reading and discussion of The Giver. We are nearing the end of the book, so students will need to have their copy of Maze Runner by James Dashner.
- Students completed another week of essay questions.
- We wrapped up the week with a “show, don’t tell” lesson, where I use colors and feelings to show abstract vs concrete and the ways in which we can write about them.
Math w/ Mrs. Bishop –
- Upcoming Tests/Quizzes- Quiz on Thursday on all the properties covered this week and the rest of the rules for exponents that we will learn at the beginning of next week.
- We got a lot accomplished this week.
- We started with properties for addition and multiplication (associative, commutative, distributive, identity, etc.). After that we worked on the closure property. And now finished the week working with exponents.
Math w/ Mrs. Boldrick –
- Upcoming Tests/Quizzes- None scheduled.
- Students took a test this week, which covered using rational numbers in all operations. Tests have been recorded and returned.
- Interim grades are current and in Google Classroom.
- Next week, we’ll work on order of operations using rational numbers.

- This week we continued learning our piece “Here Comes the Snow”!
- Our journal entry was a response to the avante garde piano pieces “Sonata V by John Cage” and “The Banshee by Henry Cowell”. Take a listen!!
SEL w/ Mrs. McFadden –
- This week, students are learning about coping skills. Coping skills are the tools we use to handle our difficult emotions. Coping skills can be used anytime we feel the need to ‘cool down.’ Ask your students what coping skills they are learning and practice using some at home together.
