A Look at Our Week:

Dear Preschool Families,

What an unforgettable Friday we had! Special Persons Day was truly the highlight of our week—and maybe even our whole school year so far. The classroom was filled with love and laughter as your children proudly welcomed some of the most important people in their lives into their preschool world.

There’s something so heartwarming about seeing a child light up when their special someone walks into their classroom. From the moment our special guests arrived, the room sparkled a little brighter. Your children were beaming as they shared their space, their work, their teachers, and their friends.

Throughout the morning, our preschoolers gave a peek into their day—beginning with our class meeting, where they showed just how much they’ve grown in confidence and community. They explored our classroom centers side-by-side with their special people, created beautiful bouquets using our handcrafted vases and flowers, and sang along with our wonderful music teacher, Miss Dena. We even got our hands messy painting garden stones, each one a little masterpiece to remind us of this special day.

And yes—those lovely vases started out as humble milk jugs! Throughout this week and last, the children poured their hearts (and a generous helping of Mod Podge and paint) into transforming them. They also dyed coffee filters and doilies with watercolors, and turned art supplies into vibrant, blooming flowers.

Earlier in the week, we also took a nature walk to find just the right rocks for painting. The children absolutely loved exploring the banks of our creek in search of the perfect rocks. After a joyful rock-washing session, our stones were ready to be turned into garden gems—made even more meaningful because they were painted with loved ones by their side.

But the true beauty of Special Persons Day wasn’t in the activities or songs or even the apple pie play-dough (though that was pretty awesome! Thanks, Miss Airry!). It was in the connection. The shared smiles. The way your children lit up as they shared their artwork, their classroom, and their joy.

Thank you to all of our Special Persons for making the time to be here and for filling our classroom with such warmth. We are so grateful for this amazing community, and for the love that surrounds these children every single day—both in and out of school.

Wishing you a weekend as full of heart as our Friday was.
With gratitude,

Meredith, Claire, and Airry
