A Look at Our Week:
What a festive and creative week we’ve had in preschool! The classroom was buzzing with excitement as we dove into lots of Halloween fun. Our preschool artists explored a delightful blend of imagination, art, and Halloween spirit to complete their October Self-Portrait! Each child posed just like their Halloween costume—superheroes, sparkly fairies, friendly ghosts, and royal princesses filled our classroom with creativity and laughter. We printed their portraits in black and white, and the children transformed them using colorful pastels, glue, gems, beads, soft fur, and bits of fabric. They decorated their costumes and brought their portraits to life! The final gallery is full of joy, color, and personality—such a wonderful way to capture their excitement for Halloween.
Our little learners rolled up their sleeves for some hands-on pumpkin fun! Together, we scooped out the slimy pumpkin guts, examined the seeds, and designed our very own class jack-o’-lanterns. The sensory exploration was a big hit! We also decorated pumpkins using oil pastels—adding bright swirls, stripes, and patterns to create beautiful pumpkins.
We wrapped up our week with a festive Halloween celebration! We shared a special snack together and then rotated through our spooky centers: blacklight artwork with highlighters, potion pouring with baking soda and vinegar, Spooky spaghetti and eyeballs sensory bin, and oobleck with spiders—sticky, squishy fun! The children had such a wonderful time playing, exploring, and celebrating together. Their curiosity, laughter, and creativity made this week truly magical.
Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us each day. We hope your family enjoys a safe, happy Halloween weekend filled with fun and sweet memories!
