November 1st?!? Inconceivable. Yet, here we are, with Halloween behind us, and Thanksgiving in sight. The first trimester is quickly coming to a close, and exhibition preparation is in full swing. The fist anual pumpkin drop was a big hit… literally! Only one pumpkin survived the fall, but everyone walked away with new ideas for next year. We enjoyed our time at main campus yesterday, seeing the littles in their costumes, playing games together, and, much to our delight, finding the open gym for some volleyball, basketball, and football time!

English w/ Mrs. McFadden –
- Upcoming Tests/Quizzes- none scheduled
- This week we listened to a podcast on “Selling a Haunted House”. It was about a legal battle that took place over whether or not a realtor has to disclose whether or not a house is haunted. It was not something I had ever thought of before. Ask your child to fill you in on the details! They then wrote a persuasive piece from the perspective of a realtor trying to sell a haunted house. They tried to use their best descriptive language to talk their houses up, and decided whether or not the ghosts would be benevolent or malevolent. After all, a haunting is in the eye of the beholder!
Math w/ Mrs. McFadden –
- Upcoming Tests/Quizzes – Chapter 3 test – Tuesday
- We got a little behind in finishing Chapter 3, but I would much rather have everyone understand the material than stick to a set test date!
- The latter half of chapter 3 involved using division to substitute in numbers for variables to evaluate algebraic expressions.
- Division is a lot of work! We really just buckled down and practiced, so next week I’ll reward them with some fun math!
