Camping Out in Preschool! 🪵🔥🏕️

A Look at Our Week:

Dear Families,

Happy November! It’s time for warm sweaters, cozy blankets, and a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows all while sitting by a crackling camp fire. Yes! The class has been very interested lately in creating camp sites/campfires. We have seen rocks take formation, sticks, and bright colored leaves to represent camp sites and fiery flames. Which, led us to a discussion about campfires.

Enjoy reading these answers:

Robert- Campfires are very hot. I have a yellow tent.

Emma- Marshmallows, you can put it out on a stick on a campfire, and it makes it so hot. In the mountains, there was a fire with marshmallows and crackers. Rocks are around it, so it doesn’t run away like a fox or coyote.

Sloane- You melt marshmallows and then put them on crackers.

Cam- You put marshmallows on a stick on it, and then you cook it, and then you blow it cause it catches on fire. I have a tent in my toy room.

Khy- They’re made out of smoke

Stone- You can cook marshmallows and hot dogs under the sun.

Addie- I made the marshmallows yummy. I had a fire at Grammy’s house

Roman- Sometimes when you put them too long, the marshmallow catches on fire, and if it catches fire, you have to blow it.

Alex- I had a fire at Grandpa’s house.

Odessa- You can cook food in your oven.

Luella- Sometimes when you have a fire, you blow it out when it’s on fire.

Romeo- I just had two fires at my house, and I was making s’mores, and I put chocolate on it, and I just tasted a white chocolate, and I was at my camper, and my mom said that’s weird. There are rocks around it, so the fire doesn’t run away. That (firepit) is a hot dog cooker!

Theo- You roast marshmallows and put crackers and chocolate.

Jazzy- The campfire looks like lava.

Tory-I put marshmallows in the fire at Daddy’s house. I want a green tent.

On Wednesday, our discussion took us outside! We gathered the class admiring the beautiful sunny sky walking down to our big campus tree where we gathered sticks, made leaf angels, and ran through the crunchy leaves all in anticipation of planning our preschool approved camp site.

We wrapped up the week with an artist flare. We made use of our outdoor space sitting on tree stumps and a comfy rug using watercolors to resemble a campfire. We had some beautiful bright and bold colors that were selected.

Help us welcome our new student Skye LaRoche and her family to our Preschool class. We now have a total of 19 children, please adjust snack numbers accordingly. Thank you in advance.

PS Have a great weekend,
