🍂 November is here, and our classrooms are buzzing with excitement! Students are diving into new learning adventures, showing gratitude, and enjoying the cozy spirit of the season. We’re thankful for all the curiosity, kindness, and teamwork filling our school each day!

🍪Third grade learned how elections work by listening to a great story: Vote for Our Future. Then students got to vote for their favorite cookie — either the chocolate chip cookie or the sugar cookie. Once the votes were in, they were counted, graphed, and a winner was announced. (Drumroll please……) Chocolate Chip won! Then, we got to enjoy the taste of victory!

❎Our third graders have been busy learning how to multiply with threes and fours! They’re discovering patterns and finding fun ways to solve problems quickly. We even talked about using the “double-double” strategy to help—if you know your twos, you can double them again to find your fours! It’s exciting to see how much their multiplication skills are growing.

🔠Students have been practicing their reading and writing fluency with a focus on words that end in -tion. They’re also working hard to remember their capitalization rules and use the correct punctuation in every sentence. It’s been great to see them paying attention to the little details that make their writing shine! We’ve also been putting the finishing touches on our animal book inspired by our Zoology deep dive. Stay tuned for more details!

📚We continued on our reading journey through Henry Huggins. The students enjoyed the small group activities and discussions centered around comprehension and story details. Ask your kiddo about Henry and Ribsy’s latest shenanigans from the most recent chapters!

We wrapped up the week with a Friday full of excitement and smiles! The Ohio County Library stopped by to share two fun stories with our students and even led a game that had everyone laughing and engaged. We always love when our community partners visit and bring reading to life!

Later in the day, we gathered for a special assembly celebrating our school’s 29 Hours event. The energy in the room was incredible as some of our teachers competed in Minute to Win It games—including our very own Mrs. Buck and Miss Madison from third grade! The students were cheering loudly and absolutely loved watching their teachers take on the challenges.

Be sure to ask your child which games we played and what their favorite part of the day was—it was definitely one to remember!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

Miss Madison and Mrs. Buck
