SEL w/ Mrs. McFadden –
- This week’s lesson wass about I-Statements, which is a way of talking about feelings that can keep othersfrom getting defensive. Communicating with others about conflicts is usually more effective when we takeresponsibility for our own emotions — that’s where an I-Statement is handy. The basic idea is to name the emotion we are feeling and the specific event that led to that feeling. You-Statements, on the other hand, can make people feel defensive and often make conversation harder.
