Dear Playgroup Families,
The Breakfast with the Elves is one of my favorite days of the year with Playgroups, and today was no exception. Not only do I enjoy having both groups combined in one session together, but I love seeing our youngest learners playing alongside our oldest learners (on main campus). The 5th graders take their elf jobs very seriously and always look forward to being paired up with the kiddos. Not only did we get some energy out in the gym and eat a yummy breakfast, we also had quite the time exploring all of the holiday provocations. We explored magnets on the big white wall with Magna tiles, jingle bells, wands, and bingo markers. Our holiday boxes returned with lots of trinkets and other “presents”, while a bin of wrapping paper and bows helped us fill gift bags and decorate boxes. A snowy land with trees, icy lights, and fluffy snow made for a tricky ride for our cars. Our oats mixed with rice bin was dumped and scooped into lots of containers, with a fun reveal of stickers underneath. Long sheets of paper marked with silhouettes of presents, ornaments, bells, and string lights, were adorned with stickers, Bingo dobbers, and stamps. Lastly, the kiddos were invited to fill an ornament with varying colors of glitter and take it home to be displayed on their special trees.
The cherry on top was a visit from the big man himself, Santa! As we were singing Jingle Bells, he burst through the door and graciously passed out candy canes to each child. How fun!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season filled with so much light, love, and happiness! I am so grateful for the time I get to spend with your children, helping them on a path of exploring and new discoveries. I cannot wait for it to continue in 2026!
With Love,
Miss Claire
