Recap:

Thanks for joining us for a very short week! We were glad to see those who could make it past the snow. Thanks for also checking Talking Points and Google Classroom on our snow days so we could still engage your kids in some learning! Hopefully, warm and wonderful memories were made.

Core:

During our short time together, we reviewed skills from last week and finished our 4th and 5th-grade literature circles! Check out the picture below of the whole group of 38 kids who broke out of their comfort zone of their classes and tried something new for the last couple of weeks!

Forward to 5th:

4th graders went forward to 5th this week and spent some time learning what being a 5th grader at WCDS means. They discussed leadership, new experiences, and even tried their hands at some fifth-grade robotics! See below for pictures of their great day.

Valentine’s Day:

We will exchange Valentine’s Day cards on February 13th. You may send in individually wrapped treats for the class to share as well. We ask that you let us know if you are doing so, so we have an idea of how many are headed our way.

A few reminders:

  • We experienced some very cold temperatures this week, and the forecast shows more to come. We limit outside time when the temperatures drop below sub-freezing. Please send your child with a winter coat, gloves, and a hat every day. We do not allow the students to go outside without proper outerwear.
  • We will be Aimswebing students from Monday through Wednesday. Please ensure they are getting proper sleep and have breakfast, as these are done in the morning.
