ELA: Students completed their Bunnicula portfolios. These portfolios consisted of their illustration of the cover of the book along with annotations detailing their predictions, a persuasive literary essay, an alternate ending, a plot diagram of the story, and their one-pager. They then presented these to the 5th grade class.
Math: The students spent all week practicing their multiplication and division facts. We played many games, and did many drills. We continue to stress the importance of daily practice of these facts. When we return from spring break, we’ll start learning the process of long division.
Digital Discovery: The students continued to work on their president slide shows. They are composing some very nice presentations. They also worked on typing their Bunnicula essays.
Character Ed: Students reviewed past lessons as a refresh before spring break. They worked through problem solving through skits.
Government Deep Dive with Mrs. White: This week consisted largely of presenting and being respectiful audience members for our peers. Students enjoy seeing what their classmates came up with for their presentations and are drawing inspiration from each other. It has been fun to see them support and cheer each other on during this!
A Few Reminders:
- Please remember to pack a healthy morning snack for your child. We’ve noticed that some students are eating part of their lunch during snack time, which leaves them with less food for lunch later in the day.
- You may see a math book go home for homework. This is your child’s assigned math book. They are responsible for bringing it home and back to school when needed.
- With the temperatures fluctuating from cold to warm and back to cold, we are finding coats, jackets, and sweatshirts left behind. Please LABEL all of your child’s clothing for easy identification of each item.
