Preschool’s Mixing It Up!

A Look at Our Week:

Dear Families,

What a bright and beautiful week we’ve had in our classroom! We may have discovered a new favorite book: Mix It Up! by Hervé Tullet. This interactive and playful color-mixing book completely captivated our preschoolers. Page by page, they amazed us with their knowledge and confidence — correctly guessing that yellow and blue make green, blue and red make purple, and so much more. We were so impressed!

Of course, we couldn’t stop at just reading about mixing colors… we had to try it ourselves! First, we mixed assorted colors of clay. With their tiny hands hard at work, the children carefully blended colors and rolled the clay into small beads. Using toothpicks, they poked little holes through each one (great fine motor practice!). The teachers then baked them until they hardened into beautiful, colorful beads. Next, we shook things up — literally! We added bright paint and wooden beads into a small bin and gave it a good shake. The result? Gorgeous marbled beads full of personality and color.

All of these special creations will come together as part of our class auction art piece for our upcoming fundraiser, Celebrate, on March 28th. We hope you’ll be able to join us! It’s such a wonderful opportunity to connect with other preschool parents, enjoy a fun grown-up night out, and support the school community we love so much.

Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us each day. Their curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm make our classroom such a joyful place to be. We hope your family has a wonderful and refreshing Spring Break filled with sunshine, laughter, and special time together. We can’t wait to hear all about your adventures when we return!

With warmth,
Your Preschool Team 💛
